I read an article that said, 1) Verification: Checking of incoming material, process setup, and products against agreed specifications and 2) Supplier rating: Assessment and approval of suppliers of products and services are appraisal costs. I am thinking these are prevention costs.Please I need your view
I would certainly think 2 is prevention as good suppliers are essential to preventing things going wrong.
1 is rather more appraisal as you are looking for things that have gone wrong by comparing products and set-ups against specifications.
