    Hello Sir

In the solutions, predicted post tax profits were calculated as 454*10/4 =1135

Can you explain me the logic behind this approach? However i got the answer by trial and error method. (40%*x=454)

What you have written is the same as what the answer has written.

    40% x X = 454

    So 40/100 X = 454

    So X = 454 x 100/40 = 454 x 10/4

I solved it differently using trial and error method ie. substituting x for 1135 to get 454. Is this method ok?

Provided you ended up with the correct figure then it doesn’t matter how you do the workings 🙂
