the first part of the question asks:

Determine the main drivers for the adoption of e-business and identify potential barriers to its adoption

    i wrote the following:

    Drivers:

    1. pressure to increase profit margins
    2. pressure to increase sale revenue
    3. bookshops going out of business
    4. emergence of online book shops which are taking away sales from TMP
    5. Paper (timber) becoming more expensive

    Barriers

    1. the Board’s unwillingness to disrupt the existing relationships with bookshops

    2. lack of funding for the website development.
    3. lack of expertise for the website development

    ———————–

my answer is a bit different from the given answer and am wondering if my answer would have been acceptable in an exam?

    thanks

Drivers: Yours are fine. You could also add ecological concerns about the use of trees.

Barriers: Expertise: we have some, because of the young graduate but the question is a little ambiguous on this point. The lack of expertise could spill over into ensuring that transactions and customers’ records are handled securely. The other two are fine.

Amazon is provided as real-life example of a powerful and successful e-trader and one that most students would be aware of. TMP. If TMP entered e-business Amazon is a competitor to be aware of.

E-business usually results in differential pricing. Often when we buy of the internet we expect the price to be lower than buying the same item in a shop. Indeed, some people try on items of clothing in a shop for fit, style etc, then go home and order the same items more cheaply over the internet!.
