In this situation(review of prospective financial information) there is a risk of the auditor being seen to promote the interests of the client WITH A THIRD PARTY such as a bank. As a result, there is a danger that the auditor will be biased in favour of the client and therefore cannot be fully objective.

ma’am I know this is really really silly, and perhaps not entirely related to AAA. But I wanted to still ask, why are we saying that auditor could be seen to promote interest of client “with a third party”? why not “in front of a third party” or some other word?

I know my English is really bad, so I genuinely apologise for asking this.

I personally would say “TO a third party!!!

I suggest that “with” is not the best choice of preposition in the quote.
