Is there any difference between this two? Or can i say it is almost the same but depends on the case provided during the exam? I have gone through quite alot of the scenario and found out most of the time they shared the same “area”
What is your thought Mr Ken ? I would love to hear from you..Your precious opinion
Thanks!
May 6, 2016 at 1:59 pm #313927There’s not a lot of difference between a project sponsor and owner and different authorities have different views. The most common distinction is that the sponsor wants the project implemented and will pay for it and the owner is the person who lives with it. Sometimes the term ‘benefit owner’ is used:
Benefit owner: the person responsible for delivering the benefit. So if a new web-site were being designed, some one would be responsible for ensuring that orders received over the Web resulted in efficient despatch of goods. That person might be located in the warehouse.
Project manager: the person in charge of the project team, usually lower than the board. The team is tasked with the implementation of the project (and might report to the board). The project managers and team are delegated by the board to handle the project.
Project sponsor: the person behind the project and who decides what the project should do. Often the project sponsor will be responsible for finding funding for the project.
