Hello,
I registered with ACCA in March, got exempted from F1 and have done F2 & F3 in June.
As I can study full-time at the moment and already have the required work experience, I would like to progress as fast as possible. However, I have done F2 & F3 as CBE on 12 and 13 June 2015 and therefore can only sit 6 more exams until 11 June 2016 (full calendar year). If I took these 6 exams in pairs of 2 on the upcoming exam sessions in September, December and March, I would not be able to take advantage of the June 2016 session as they are taking place in the first week of June.
Had I done F2 & F3 in the paper version in the first week of June 2015, I would be able to sit new exams in June 2016. Seems to be a bit unfair to me. Does someone know how ACCA implements this rule and if the calendar year runs 12 months from one exam cycle to the next (June to June) or is it exactly the 365 days?
Thanks for your help
July 6, 2015 at 10:25 pm #259662I had F2 CBE in June and am going to sit F4 CBE in September and than F5-F8 in December. I believe that CBE exams should not be counted with paper ones. As I aware the only restriction is that we can’t register on more than four exams in one session. Than I would like to have three exams in Spring and last three in June-2016

ACCA study is flexible; with 4 paper exam sessions to choose from each year and computer-based exams available on demand*, you can progress through the qualification at your own pace and enter for exams at a time that suits you**July 9, 2015 at 2:03 am #260260Hi Jens,
I believe a calender year is from 1 Jan -31 Dec.
You should therfore be able to take 8 distinct exams in 2015.
In your case a further 6 papers in 2015 spread over Sept and Dec.
Please see below info taken from the ACCA website:Exam progression rules
As we move to four exam sessions a year, we will have four exam cycles a year.
Students will still be allowed to take a maximum of 4 exams during each exam cycle across a maximum of 8 distinct exams over the course of a calendar year.
The exam cycles for 2015 are:
June 2015: 1 Feb – 24 July
September 2015: 25 July – 30 September
December 2015: 1 October – 31 DecemberFor the four sessions in 2016 and in all future session they’ll be:
March session: 1 Jan – 31 March
June session: 1 April – 30 Jun
September session: 1 July – 30 September
December session: 1 Oct – 31 DecemberThese sessions are in line with the exemption closing dates.
Papers must be taken in line with the following module order, however you can attempt the papers within each module in any order:
Knowledge (F1-F3) – available by computer-based exam (CBE) or paper-based format in selected markets
Skills (F4-F9) – all available by paper-based format with F4 English and F4 Global also available by CBE
Professional (Essentials P1-P3 and Options P4-P7) – available by paper-based formatIf your status allows you to enter for papers across modules, please remember that you must complete the papers in order and enter for outstanding papers in your current module if you wish to enter to sit papers in the next module.
