Can someone plz tell me how to calculate pbt if figure not given in a cash flow question

Dont the question was stated correctly i meant using previous and current retained earnings figure, aside from the difference is there any adjustments to consider?
Of course there are! What about dividends paid out of retained earnings? Profit before tax will normally not be an issue. But Steve Scott MAY not give you a statement of changes in equity where you would find the dividends declared out of retained earnings. In that ( rare ) situation, retained earnings brought forward + profit after tax – dividends declared should = retained earnings carried forward
