Could you please explain what does it mean product is bought on price? It is in relation to Volume discounting price strategy.

    Thanks very much.
    Have a good evening.

    Kind regards,

Sorry, but there is no such expression as “bought on price”. I don’t know where you found it, but maybe if you type the whole sentence I will be able to explain what they mean.

    Dear John,

My apologies, should have quoted the whole sentence. I’m sorry.

It is from Kaplan’s study text page 183. Probably is not important just keep bugging me what is that. I googled it and found nothing….

Conditions suitable for a volume-discounting pricing strategy:
The product is bought on price and it is difficult to distinguish it from competing products.

Benefits to the business of using a volume discounting strategy:
Discounts help to sell items that are bought primarily on price.

If you think it is not important to know than just leave it.

    Thanks very much.
    Have a great evening.

All it is saying is that volume discounting is worth considering when customers can buy similar products from other businesses. So they are not buying ours because ours is better, but might buy ours if ours is cheaper 🙂
