Hi,
I have sat 11 of 14 exams with BPP using either the Online course or the Online Live course.
I am currently studying my 12th course with BPP, but I am having numerous issues with the recordings which is making it difficult to keep up with my studies, but is also a massive waste of money!
This an ongoing issue, which I have had for almost a year, across several courses.
Has anyone used the Online Live courses with Kaplan and if so do you think the lectures and course books provided useful and worth the money?
Thanks
February 23, 2018 at 12:18 am #438477Kaplan has so much unnecessary data given in question just to confuse you. BPP is very simple and easy to understand.
March 3, 2018 at 6:21 pm #439947I’ve done most of my modules with BPP. Tried First Intuition once but just wasn’t enough.
When Kaplan offered a 6 week tuition on F7 (evening Live Online), while BPP 4, I decided to change (value for money -I thought).
Within 24 hour of the course starting I ended up cancelling the whole thing and going back to BPP. The technical quality of the lecture was awful, the teacher had such strong accent I could hardly understand what she was saying, and the fact that she used her mobile for video call didn’t help… (I got a headache after an hour).
I know people who prefer Kaplan, and I do question BPP sometimes but for me it’s still works better.
If you are undecided, keep in mind that you can cancel the course within 14 days of enrollment if you are unhappy!March 3, 2018 at 6:38 pm #439948I have read forum posts that support both sides, but after reading your post @Szilvana, I think I will stick with BPP. I am used to the way they work and the format of the courses, and your comments about Kaplan have put me off!
If there is unneccessary data as aliahmed1994 said then it probably isn’t worth swapping. There is enough to learn in each course as it is, without having to filter through notes I’m unlikely to need.
March 7, 2018 at 12:36 pm #440968I have just started ACCA with Kaplan, I’m finding the online portal impossible.
The lecture videos simply won’t load on Chrome, Edge or Mozilla.
This is due to Flash player not loading the videos, it loads videos on any other website except MyKaplans lectures.
Attempted to update it and still nothing (yet works on other sites). Awaiting a reply from the support email address. Probably too late to watch the lectures titled “watch these before your first class” though.
March 7, 2018 at 3:23 pm #441039@ekerr That’s a pain that you can’t get the lectures to load.
I think I will definitely stick with BPP now.
Is the Kaplan support any good? Have they managed to sort the problem?
March 7, 2018 at 11:32 pm #441229They have replied with the usual tech support answers (clear your cache, ensure flash is enabled, blah blah)
That said, this is the only issue I’ve had and it’s possible not everyone else has faced it.
