Hi, I would like to know whether we should include the presentation slides in the SLS document? Or it’s enough to submit the presentation slides in .pptx?
Thanks

Hi
I am confused about this presentation requirement.
Not much is given regarding it in the obu guide. How are we supposed to compress a 6500 words report into 15-20 slides?
I would be grateful if anybody who hs done itcould share their experiences. Thanks

as far as i know, you will have to meet several times with your mentor during your preparation of the RAP and each time u meet and inform ur mentor about ur proceedings about the RAP, you will have to show your progress in short to the mentor through power point presentation, then the mentor will comment on your progress and give suggestions for improvemnt. all these should be printed and sent to the OBU along with your RAP as evidence.

hey afzal
Thanks for your response
Actually I know why the presentation is required, we actually have to give a presentation at the last meeting ‘on’ the project.
I was confused about the structure of my presentation.
What all should I include in my presentation.
Thanks anyways

Hi people,
I try to keep this short. The main objective of a presentation is to communicate information to the end user. Logically the presentation was kept short as everyone’s attention span is limited. Imagine you’re the number 10th or 20th presentor and the mentor would be tired by then. Although the presentation is structured at 15min, this is more than enough if you were to make full use of it. This means you have to summarise your presentation and pick out only the important points that you want to address in your RAP. Remember to be in line with your objectives of the RAP. For eg. SWOT analysis shouldn’t take long to be presented to your audience.
You would have to take your RAP and allocate your time for each section. Of course you would have to rehearse and rehearse to ensure besides keeping within the 15min limit, the main objectives of the RAP are met. You can present to your friends and get comments from them. Remember the presentation slides are not an essay so you would have to extract the key words.
For eg. SWOT of IKEA
Strength – Low cost
– Trendy
Weakness – Durability
Opportunities – xxxxxxxx
Threats – xxxxxxxYou would have to elaborate in the presentation the low cost was due to cost push to the customers as they would have to assemble their own furniture.
Remember to keep your slides within the 15 – 20 limit. Do avoid squeezing lots of data on a slide and remember to make use of graphs and tables.
I hope this helps.
November 2, 2014 at 9:46 pm #207317Hi,
Can I copy the same graphs I have in my RAP onto the presentation or do I have to do something different? Thanks
Regards
AmarainNovember 3, 2014 at 8:17 am #207358@Amarain – There is no point in doing another set of graphs – use the ones you already have if they are appropriate. Remember to focus on your main findings – you do not have to show dozens of graphs for every single ratio.
Presentations in real life are about keeping your audience interested – not boring them to death and the RAP Presentation is no different. Try to keep your mentor (and subsequently the marker!) ‘entertained’ – do not present slides packed with too many words and graphs – they are intimidating. A good Presentation is about presenting information concisely, succinctly and appropriately and that means focusing on the main points and presenting them well and clearly.
May 17, 2015 at 7:16 pm #246637Good day all,
Some count down inquiries please.
I have issue inserting information in the power point presentation for 15mins. Especially that which has to do with the results.
How do we put in ALL the results? etc. its so confusing. please need urgent help!!!May 18, 2015 at 12:33 am #246716@bishicumber – I have addressed this issue in a recent post to faizy7 on the Resubmission Queries Forum topic. The idea is that you focus on the main findings in your graphs and include the SWOT &PESTLE presented in bullet point format
