If you have had several attempts, almost certainly your problems relate to the way you answer the questions, not your technical knowledge. Main thinngs to remember:

1 Attempt all parts of all questions. It is fatal to run out of time and not attempt some parts.

2 Mak sure you answer each part fully – particularly those which ask you to, for example, “identify and explain”. Identification (or listing) might earn you 1/2 mark per point; explaining or describing would probably earn 1 mark per point you make.

3 Address the specifice of the scenario. For example, the type of business will influence where audit risks are most severe.

4 Write enough. For 10 marks (18 minutes) you should write no less than one page of A4, preferably 1.25 pages. Any less and you simply are not writing in enough detail. Pretend you are writing for a 16 year old trainee who knows very little and who needs everything explained.

Now, practise doing questions against the clock and ensure you write in enought detail. Compare your answers to the model answers to see where there are major discrepancies.
