    Hi John,

    I have worked through the questions in the above and doing the operating statement variances, is there a reason why we would not include the sales volume variance? the 11460 adverse variance was not accounted in the figures?

    I am puzzled, because I have the answer in front of me and I can see the sales volume variance of 11,460 adverse! 🙂

    Sorry the balance of the adverse variances is 204236 but on the answers its 192776 the difference being this 11460. Hope im not losing the plot

    Sorry – I see what you mean now.

    The correct total of the adverse variances should be 204236.
    The net of the favourable and adverse variances should be 189375 (A)

    That then does give the actual profit to be 29825
