Hello Mr. Tutor,
I am back with another question on practice question 11. For year ended 31 March 2014, why is the capical allowance 112594? I get 53400 (25000 + 20538 + 7862) .
Thank you

Hi Leila
Many thanks for your query and for pointing out an error in the update from last year! The figures you quote of 25,000 + 20,538 + 7862 are indeed the figures correctly shown in the answer for the AIA and WDA calculations for the year ended 31 March, 2014. Unfortunately these figures have not all then been shown in the allowances column for this year and the WDA and total figures given have not been updated from last year. The WDA figures in the allowances column should therefore be as calculated 20,538 and 7,862 and the total should indeed then be 53,400.
My apologies for this error and this will be updated on the site in the next few days Thank you and your fellow students for bringing these updating errors to our attention and please let me know of any other possible errors you may find as you work through so that we may jointly improve the material for you to use.
Work hard and good luck in your exams!
