    Dear sir,

Goold and Campbell Johnson, Scholes and Whittington
    Financial control = Portfolio Manager
    Strategic Control = Synergy Manager
    Strategic Planning = Parental development

    Are they same??
If not, what are the concept behind??

    Thanks.

    Best regards,

    Leornado

Almost the same. Both deal with the way head runs their subsidiaries.

Financial control = Portfolio Manager. These are the same

Strategic Control = Synergy Manager. More or less the same because synergy will normally arise from some sort of control to achieve savings etc.

Strategic planning: more interference than above. These people see, perhaps an industry changing and they need to buy into new technology. Eg a gas boiler company buying a solar panel maker.

Parental developer is how the holding company can improve the performance of a subsidiary by being able to help it where help is needed.
