In an Oil and petrol sector, Batteries (battery powered cars) are substitutes.
But in company’s point of view Isn’t it rivalry?

I think this would come down to how you define the strategic grouping of the industry. In other words, whether you would analyse combustion driven cars as composing a distinctive strategic group.
