    Hi,
Percentage of revenue derived from patented products to measure the legally protected revenues of the business and so indicate the barrier to entry .

The performance measure used above isn’t compared to overall revenue from the same industry?

I’m not sure how the company would get that information on an industry wide basis. Even without that informatoin the more of their own technology that is protected by patents the better. This would allow them to set improvement targets to enhance their ability to discourage new entrants.
