I knew I would have failed as I did only 3 of the 4 compulsory questions. This I did not realized until I came out of the exam… I was depressed then but giving God thanks as Dec ’11 has gone down in history (for me 🙂 )as that was the only sitting I was not succesfull in at least one papaer. I will now move forward and ensure that I’m better prepared for June 2012!

Impressed with your score 79%. Can you pls advise me how to study P7. It worries me since I heard that, exam is quite difficult, not easy as it looks when studying. Many thanks.

Hi thuha,
Many thanks for your feedback.
I usually attend a part time tuition course as I find this helps me to work through the course material at an even pace. At the beginning of the study cycle I always draft a plan to ensure I set aside time each week to revise any material covered during the lectures and complete any written assignments requested by the tutor. I also make sure I build in enough study time for revision at the end of the course.
Completing the homework can be a pain, particularly when you’re working but I find it invaluable as it really helps to sharpen your ability to interpret the question requirements, develop your professional writing style and complete the questions within the allocated time. I believe perfecting this exam technique is a key skill for passing the exams. Exam technique is as essential as understanding the course but many people neglect this which leads to them running of time to complete the paper in the exam. You really have to complete the whole paper to give yourself the best possible chance of passing.
Closer to the exam I ensure I revise the entire course, complete as many past exam questions as possible and read all the relevant articles on the ACCA website (of which there are many for P7!). I also try to complete at least two mocks in the final days before the exam when I feel I’ve completed all my revision.
It takes a lot of hard work but I’ve applied this approach in every exam and I’ve managed to pass 13 exams first time in 2.5 years so I think it really works.
I hope this helps and all the best in your future exams.
