I have finally passed P5 with 52% this was my 4th attempt! So glad that all my exams are now done and dusted! Was just waiting to pass P5 to fully qualify for some time now… it felt like forever !! I see from a few posts on here there was some people unlucky again on their resit of this paper, don’t give up you’ll get there eventually ! P5 is probably the worse paper I ever experienced on ACCA and from my experience of 4 attempts it was so frustrating that I only needed this one exam but I think the key to increase chances of passing this is time management … I still didnt finish this exam paper this time and practically left a 20 mark question untouched, so I count myself lucky that I done enough to pass with a slim 52% 🙂 but a pass is a pass ! Congrats to all that have passed and best of luck to all those who failed
August 22, 2011 at 10:22 am #86918Any suggestions on how to pass P5, I am seeking for an external tutor:
BPP
Kaplan
I am work full time and have a family (two kids and wife), so I am extremely busy (I am not making excuses), so I need help to pass P5!!.
Best wishes!August 22, 2011 at 10:30 am #86919AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

failed 39 only, i was not expecting, the paper went excellent, i dont know how come i have got such marks..
August 22, 2011 at 10:52 am #86920Passed 71% affiliate now.
I was convinced i failed however this was the biggest shock ever.(I even tried to pay for a resit on sunday evening but the system wasn’t working !!!)
for guys who want a couple of tips on passing this:
1. Answer in the form of a heading and paragraph. Underline the heading and write no more than 5 sentences a paragraph.
2. Don’t panic if you don’t know a model. The answer is within the question. Read the scenario, highlight anything that seems a bit suspect.
3. Most importantly apply the model/analysis to the scenario ( I didn’t know the building blocks or the BCG that well but I just used the info in the question and answered the question set rather than worry about what the model said word for word)
4. Finally, answer a 100%. As long as it’s logical and applicable to the scenario you will get a mark for it.
I do hope this helps someone out there
Shawn
August 22, 2011 at 11:15 am #86921Passed 60% whilst working full time and looking after a 1 year old!! THANKS Open Tuition P5 online lectures were AMAzing!!!
August 22, 2011 at 11:39 am #86922Haha saying you expected to fail and then got 71% is a bit sickening to those who passed. A bit unrealistic in fairness
August 22, 2011 at 11:44 am #86923Totally agree with Shawn though that time management and answering 100% of exam was number one factor in any successes i had in exams including this one

August 22, 2011 at 12:13 pm #86925Failed with 42% and P5 is the only paper for me to complete ACCA and the Exam was so nice. It gets discouraging Time after Time.

To God be the glory, great things he has done. Jesus is good all the time. Pass – 68%. Now an Affiliate. Thanks to Opentuition – Great website. Cograts to all who passed and for those who failed, don’t give up. It doesn’t matter how many times you have attempted this paper or how long you have been doing ACCA. Don’t give up!!! It will be over soon. It was a long journey for me but success finally came. It can and will come for u too. If I should leave an important tip with you – Read the question CAREFULLY and MAKE SURE u CORRECTLY INTERPRET the question before you begin to answer it. And even while writing your answer, go back and read the requirement again to make sure u on the right track. All the best.

Really disappointed that I did not get through P5 in my first attempt. I really enjoy this subject and I completed more than 20 Q&As and many past year papers before going for exam, and found the paper “do’able”. I really did not expect to fail. Too heartbreaking.
August 23, 2011 at 8:55 pm #8693959… P4 you are my next and the last victim… buhahahaha…
