I sat the PM session just a few days ago, and I got a 16 marks question in section C for Building Blocks, asked me to give a measure for each dimension of building blocks for the two service centres given on the scenario, and give a reason why I chose that. It was a scary 16 marks when I saw it, but I calmed down and manage to finish the requirement for all dimensions.

Does that mean there is no fixed right answer? Because I am so anxious about the measures I have chosen and they might be bad measures and not be acceptable by the examiner, even though I was confident in them. So does the examiner expect a specific measure that should have been used in the question or considerations are given?

What I meant by specific measure/answer is like the answers you see at the back of revision kits when answering performance measurement section Cs questions given by the examiner.

There are no specific measures. If you gave sensible measures for each dimension for the type of business then you will get the marks.
The examiners answers and the answers in Revision Kits for this sort of question and only suggestions 🙂

I so confident about 5 part of dimension
    Financial : Gross profit margin
Resource utilisation : gross profit / number of senior mechanic
Innovation : number of new package
Quality of service : customer feedback
Flexibility: time need for new customer
But what is indicator of competitiveness ??

I give examples in my free lectures! The lectures are a complete free course for Paper PM and cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam well.

    One indicator is market share.

    – Percentage of customer feedback is 9 or 10 out of 10
    – Number of people hit website

I can’t really answer without seeing the whole question. I assume it was in Section C.
The question cannot have said ‘average member of USA’, but it isn’t clear from what you have written whether it referred to average for all car repair showrooms or not. If it did then the comparison of percentage of customer feedback, and number of old customers returning, could be indicators.

When the ACCA publish the hybrid September/December exam, then if they choose this question I will then be able to see the exact wording, and what the actual requirement was.
