Hi Sir! I’ve seen the free lectures but I still do not understand how the flexed data can be calculated (based on budget this year) here! I used the actual last year number to calculate and compared it to actual number this year but it doesn’t seem right either. Please help me! Thank you 🙂
The budget is not relevant because the information given is comparing with last year.
Last year they sold 400. The market has fallen by 25% and our sales have also fallen by 25% – so it is not that we have done anything wrong.
Last year the selling price was $100 per unit. This year it is $95 per unit, which is a drop of 5% However prices is the market fell by 10%, so we have performed better than the market.
Make the same check on material costs and see what conclusion you come to 🙂
Oh yeah I got it know! So for material cost, it was $20 per unit last year and according to the info we knew, it should go down by 5% which is $19 per unit. However, actually it was around $21.67 per unit so we didn’t performed well in material cost. Thank you so much sir!! 🙂
You are welcome 🙂
