Hi ! i am attending f4, f5 & f6 this june. i have been concentrating on f5 & f6 all this while ., and haven’t looked at f4 at all. Having realized that i am running out of time, i want to start learning f4 from tomorrow on. i have all the study resources necessary which includes BPP study text, BPP revision kit and also full access to opentution courses notes and lectures.
Please give me some suggestions on how to study with such less time left π … THANK YOU
May 18, 2014 at 1:08 am #169258I did exactly the same as you for the December 2013 exams and just listened over and over to the open tuition lectures. Never wrote anything, just listened to the lectures which were so much more interesting than the bpp books I had. I nearly never went to the exam as thought I had no chance but in the exam all the cases and stories came to mind so easily. And I passed, I finished the exam 45 minutes before the end as well so thought I had not written enough to pass. For me listening to lectures 3 times and reading technical articles from acca’s website worked. I also asked someone’s advise on here and she did exactly the same and also passed. Good luck
May 18, 2014 at 9:47 pm #169407Thanks alot for your suggestion π ! maybe i’ll try doing the same . but ,since i am doing the ‘global’ variant ,there’re no lectures for the around 9 chapters from the beginning . and that’s a disappointing part of the video lectures …
June 13, 2014 at 12:41 pm #176392Hi
Can i just do my study for F4 and F5 through opentuition or do i need to buy books? i am planning to take the exam in December 2014.
Thanks so much for your help.
Jen
June 13, 2014 at 12:55 pm #176394You’ll probably need a revision kit to practice both these papers along with opentution lectures & course notes… Opentution just helps you understand the basics. Practicing from revision kit & past papers is what helps you ease through your exams. I think you’ll have to get the updated revison kits for f4 & f5 since the exams have a new format from December 2014.
June 15, 2014 at 4:51 pm #176641So i don’t need to buy the books just the revision kit? Thanks for your advice . Cheers!
June 15, 2014 at 5:06 pm #176643Yup! You’re welcome..
July 15, 2014 at 8:07 am #178883I am planning to write in December. Where can I get cases?. Are there audio lectures because I can’t access video lectures.
July 15, 2014 at 1:43 pm #178895You only really need cases in you’re doing English variant. There are only video lectures, no audio lectures. There’s always the Ask the Tutor option and the video lectures are approximately 60% relevant for Global variant
Keep in touch!
July 16, 2014 at 4:58 pm #179018Sorry Mike, do you mean that I use English cases for the Global paper?
July 17, 2014 at 11:45 am #179065Yes. The 50% – 60% overlap between English variant and Global variant means that all those cases in the course notes chapters from Agency onwards are relevant.
However!!!!! I doubt very much that there will be much opportunity to demonstrate your encyclopedic knowledge of cases in a multiple-choice based exam. I may be wrong – I’m waiting to see December 2014 paper the same as you are
July 18, 2014 at 7:24 am #179107Many thanks Mike for your help.
