Hi,
Please could you advise on the best way to studying and revising this syllabus.
I have found myself going through each recorded lecture one after another and feel like its not going to materialise much gains (excuse the pun) without practice. I wonder, is it better to watch a lecture and practice all the questions in the notes and in the BPP kit AND on the ACCA study hub, and then move on to the next lecture to be getting more out of this?
I understand everyone has their learning styles.
Many thanks.

July 8, 2024 at 10:40 am #708015Hello,
Everyone has there own way of learning.
I would suggest – read and watch each chapter and try the exercises there, then do the corresponding chapter in the BPP manual as it tests yourknowledge further.
If you’re taking the exam in September then I would make sure that this stage of taking in knowledge is done by the end of July/early August and then spend a couple of weeks doing exam style questions to test your knowledge.
Find out what you can/can’t do and focus on the things your struggle with in the next couple of days.
Finally move on to attempting timed mock exams – both written and on line.Hope this helps.
Its about buliding a firm foundation and having confidence in what you know

I guess my other question is which content within this syllabus do students tend to find most difficult? Got a feeling CGT is one of the hardest…
Thanks
July 10, 2024 at 10:01 am #708153Again it depends. Some find IHT hard as it is totally different to other taxes and some struggle with VAT.
I find that CGT isn’t one of the tough taxes as there are so many specific rules, very few grey area’s.
Just keep working – it will come. - AuthorPosts
