    Hi

Do you have any tips on how to plan questions? and would you recommend only planning Section ‘a’?

    thank you
    Jemma

Hard to generalise except that the more marks there are the more likely it is that planning will help.

For 20 marks (36 minutes) you should aim for about 2.5 sides in your answer, so that would usually benefit from some planning. A 5 mark part on obviously needs less planning.

The large part of Q1, typically asking for audit risks or business risks usually needs less planning because each paragraph of the question usually deals with the effects of one issue, so just progress by dealing with one paragraph at a time.

Ok is your reply with reference to P7?

Also useful as I am also taking that :0)

I think I will practice planning when I do qu1 for both papers… do you have any useful techniques?

    Thanks
    jemma

Sorry! Thought I was answering P7.

No particular tips other than spend your reading time getting to know the long questions. Read requirements first. Don’t just underline stuff, make notes in the margin that mean something.
