    Hi @afiamirza,

You can apply for job at any time during your ACCA journey. That is totally up to you when you find working suitable to do.

ACCA does recommend students to work along with their studies as this will help them apply the knowledge gained while studying for the papers in the workplace. Hence, developing good application skills.
This also helps in achieving the 36 months PER requirement.

However, each person’s situation is different. There are people who can easily balance work and studies, then there are those who struggle to maintain that balance. So it all comes down to the person to decide when does he want to apply for job because he knows his potential and situation better than anyone else.

On the contrary, I can certainly give you some examples/scenarios that may help you to decide:
    – You can apply while you are studying for ACCA :
something which I have already mentioned above. The key here is to maintain that balance with work and study commitments along with other commitments (family/friends etc) Though this may be common among ACCA students, it is not easy because it does get difficult and tiring sometimes.

    – You can apply once you have completed the Fundamental Level:
Completing the Fundamental level means you have completed the first 9 papers and are down with just 4 more. The student is more relaxed in this case as he knows he has the load of fewer papers now.

    – You can apply after you have completed all your acca papers:
Students generally accelerate their ACCA studies by giving more papers per sitting do complete their exams and then have focus full on work. However, I personally believe this is a risky take as I have seen students over committing with the number of papers in each sitting resulting in them getting stuck in a vicious cycle of many resits.

    – You can take study and work breaks:
So the best part of ACCA PER requirement is internship and volunteer work also qualifies for the requirement( provided that it is a relevant role) so you don’t necessarily have to be in a full time role or permanent role.
In this case, students may take one or two papers per sitting and are full time students then for the next sitting they don’t take up any paper instead work in as an intern for the next few months. Those who may find it difficult to manage both studies and work usually do this.

Hence, as I stated before, it is completely upon you when you want to start working and how you would find it easy to manage with your studies.

You will have to consider employment opportunities as well.

Also, you have stated you are a BCom graduate and from what I know, that should have helped you get exemptions for your ACCA papers.

    Hope that helps.
