    Do you remember Dumbledore’s bird Fawkes. Fawkes was a phoenix. Every now and again, Fawkes would combust (set alight) and burn to ashes.

    Not to worry, says Dumbledore. Just watch. And from the ashes rose a new bird, a new Fawkes

    Hence the expression “??? rose like a phoenix from the ashes”

    Now, back to company law! When directors put their company into an insolvent liquidation – effectively running away from the company debts – there was previously nothing to prevent those same directors starting a new company with a very similar name.

    Thus, it’s like a new Dumbledore bird – it rises like a phoenix from the ashes of the old liquidated company

    Is that ok?

    (I just hope that you’re familiar with the Harry Potter books!)
