Does anyone know how to start an online petition?

One student wrote the following and I strongly agree.

I am creating this topic to highlight and discuss the problems being faced by many ACCA students associated with Industry/Employer in Finance section while sitting in ACCA Exam in 1st week of exam month

    Issue:

ACCA exams normally start in the 1st week of exam months four time in a year and many students including myself facing difficulties to secure short vacations/offs for ACCA exam revision from employers due to month-end financial closing/reporting timelines.

    Recommendations:
ACCA can help/reduce the sufferings of those students by extending the exams dates and starting ACCA Exams in 2nd week of each exam month, it will provide some relief for above-mentioned candidates to secure some days off/vacation for revision with no work pressure and attend exams with peace and concentration

I appreciate the struggles however it’s highly unlikely to change to the second week as this then conflicts with ACA exam dates – many employers (including my own) which have people sitting both ACA and ACCA would therefore not want this – just a thought.

You are not the first person, we already had an instant Poll and discussion…

    https://opentuition.com/topic/when-is-the-best-week-for-the-acca-to-hold-exams/

You will be surprised.. which option won..

If the was a strong opinion to change the week.. we were going to send it to the ACCA

Curious that the 1st week won. Anyone who prefers 1st week mind to share the reason why?

I strongly agree that the second week in every week would be better

I would have thought that ACCA would have realised a lot of their students, probably a majority are in industry

It is very stressful having month end then an exam a few days later. its always a struggle getting time off without affecting your team

Personally I prefer the 1st week as (working in practice) the further to the end of the month the closer to deadlines I get and so the more work piles up. Client’s tend to bring their accounts information in around the 2nd/3rd week for the month end deadline and so the first week would be more ideal.

Obviously other practices will be different and of course the large difference between industry and practice means this wouldn’t suit everyone.
