Hey I need help from expert mentors,

I’m planning for topic 8 period 39 submission. I have chosen to go ahead with 4010020 Automobiles industry.

The problems that I face are:
    1) Main company and competitor are subsidiaries of a Group of companies. Is it an issue if it is a subsidiary in a group or if the group has diversified companies?

    2) Main company and competitors do have subsidiaries within themselves, will it be a problem if it has subsidiary companies within them and diversified subsidiary companies?

    Thank You

You really need to look at these at the company rather than group level and state any limitations about the validity of drawing comparisons in Part 2

My choice of company is Mercedes-Benz (Germany), which is subsidiary of Daimler group. Comparator is BMW AG group (Germany). Can I use 2 companies when one is subsidiary of a larger and the other is actually a large parent ?

    hi,

I have chosen the same company as above but daimler group also has heavy truck which is excluded in the industry specification by obu. The SOCI has the break down, but the SOFP doesn’t. Would this be an issue when analysing?

It is so difficult. I have chosen Volkswagen and my mentor said, it’s a good choice but they also manufacture commercial vehicles and I could only find Group financial statements. I am worried. Please help?
