Hi,
is performance management system the same as performance measurement system?
And performance management is where you improve performance in essence by measuring what matters?
Well, they are very closely related. If you are going to manage performance you first have to measure it.
I suppose performance could be measured but then no action taken as a result of those measurements – but that owuld be a waste of effort.
As you say, the first thing you have to do in performance management is to decide what is ‘good’ performance and then devise ways of measuring that.
