why is it that the pension contribution is treated as expense for an employees net emoluments, and NIC is not treatd as an expense cosnidering they are both similar, so why are they treated seperately.

They are not similar – NIC is a tax that goes to HMRC whereas a contribution into an occupational pension scheme is a payment into your own pension fund to provide you with a bigger pension when you retire
