This is my first time sitting for the exam and I didn’t know can only use ball point pen only. I used pilot gel pen to answer my F5 and F8 papers. I heard that the OCR cannot scan gel pen. I am afraid they will fail my papers if they cant scan anything or not clear . Can someone give me some advice. Thank you
June 6, 2014 at 3:02 pm #174649i have always used gel pen and my papers have been marked and i have passed as well so chill…
June 6, 2014 at 3:07 pm #174652Then why they said the scanner only pick up ball pen only?
June 6, 2014 at 3:48 pm #174669Ball pens result in better recognition, so they recommend it… No need to worry, papers are marked even if you write with blue ink… How was your F8? I found it easier than the past papers, but there were loads of procedures and was quite lengthy… First attempt for F8
June 6, 2014 at 4:00 pm #174672I was able to finish all the questions but still not sure for the procedures I applied. Yes, the paper was easier than past years and they didnt ask much on theory, mostly were application questions which i was very happy because i was lack in theory.
June 4, 2015 at 9:33 pm #253394hey Ali, I wrote my f8 exam in blue ink today. are you sure they still get the clarity and will mark my exam? have you written or know anyone who wrote in blue ink and ACCA marked their paper?
June 5, 2015 at 6:00 pm #253954This is probably a really nerdy question, but what are the easiest pens to use for the exam? I rarely write these days, and I get a sore hand writing for so long, and my writing looks really messy!
June 5, 2015 at 6:18 pm #253988Hey Mohamed, my friend took his exams last session and wrote with a blue pointer. He passed, and after the exams, he emailed ACCA as well and they assured him that the paper would be marked and it wouldnt effect his results.
Neil, mate you have to use ball point pens, but different brands suit different people. Try getting different pens and writing one page or even a short paragraph to see what suits you best.
That worked for me and believe me if you time yourself while writing, you will be able to write faster too!For sore hand, dont sit in one position too long, try leaning, then getting back, sitting straight then lean and move your arm to write rather than force the hand and wrist to move.
