So on the 13th July I made a post here (CIMA E1 and P1) which I cleared and got pretty good marks. I wrote within the post that I’m going to start from zero and prepare F1 to attempt in a month for Operational Case Study exam. Case Study’s last date for registration is 25th July.
One month was a real short time and the fact I almost knew nothing in F1 but what motivated me was my teacher when he said ‘ Even 10 days are enough to prepare and clear’ and it all started. And I cleared very easily. Here’s what you need to know:
F1 is the easiest after E1 exam.
Kaplan text book is all I studied but made sure I’m not just reading but also understanding EVERY topic. (Google any sub topic if you get stuck)
Kaplan’s Practice kit is A MUST because it has very hard full length Qs compared to the exam and it prepares you well. I attempted all 400 and re-practiced ones I couldn’t attempt.
I revised the book again in two days to understand the concepts well, again.
Finally bought Cima Aptitude 2 and attempted about 200 Qs there.
After all this practice, which should take about 3-4 days, I revised the book again to get firm grip of all the concepts after 600-700 practice Qs.It took me 28 -30 days to get fully ready and I attempted the exam. It was really easy and it can be easy for you too if you follow these key steps to pass:
Relax for the whole 15 mins of tutorial before exam starts.
Once you’re ready, the key is to start and do the Easy Qs first. I do not even read the Longer/numerical Qs instead quickly flag them and keep moving.
Find the short/theoretical Qs first and attempt which are easy compared to the rest
First 30 mins you’ve to attempt all short/easy Qs and flag rest of them
After 30 mins, you’ll notice you’ve done 15-25 Qs once you quickly reach the last Q and review the screen to check the left ones.
Last 60 mins, you’ll feel very relaxed since you’ve 45-35 Qs left in 60 mins.
There’s always 5-10 Qs that are long/hard and require some time so always leave it to the end and attempt the rest. Never waste your time on Q if you get stuck.P.s Little hack: I couldn’t 6 Qs so I choose the option D for all of them and hoped least one/two of them could go right.
So in the end it was pretty easy and I cleared with 113 marks. One month preparation and this is all what I’ve done. Now the 10-12 days prep for my Casestudy exam. Hope it helps everyone.

welldone again Madii 😉August 6, 2017 at 3:04 pm #400751Hi Madii,
do you work full time ? just wondered as you never mentioned in you post. As I am trying to gauge how long it would take to complete each paper, thanks.
August 14, 2017 at 8:09 pm #401858No I dont work. However, if you do not work and study with pure dedication 1 and a half months are enough for each subject
August 17, 2017 at 12:12 pm #402197I cleared P1 in june and am planning to sit F1 in Sept. Is F1 more difficult than P1? And where can i search my pass mark? because i received just “pass” paper.
August 30, 2017 at 2:36 pm #404376Hi
I just cleared P1 yesterday and I think that it was much more difficult than F1.

February 6, 2018 at 9:27 am #435453I have already Kaplan Kit,that I’ve bought with Study text, but what is about CIMA Aptitude 2? What is the difference between CimaAptitude 1 and 2?
February 9, 2018 at 10:42 pm #436153Buna Elena :),
Aptitude 2 contains questions that are not found in the exam kit from Kaplan. That’s what Aptitude 1 contains.
Toate bune! 😉

March 4, 2019 at 4:51 pm #507475Are the CIMA Aptitude tests supplementary to the Kaplan Practice Kit?
April 1, 2019 at 4:54 pm #510973Madii77, you are right. i used a similar technique and i did it in three weeks though i had some knowledge from my previous studies . i thinks we lose a lot time trying to work on the hard and long questions. very inspirational, keep it up.
