So im doing a question about partnership dissolution right now. Im done transferring all the items from balance sheet into “dissolution account, capital account and bank account”
Now, next step is to adjust those accounts with the follow-up transaction that the question give us. One of the transaction wrote “Cash received xxx from trade payable”
Usually for other questions i did, i just settle the payable payment by Bank (Cr). But this time its weird, aren’t we suppose to PAY money to payable instead of receiving money from them?
Im thinking maybe the question wrote it wrongly as cash received instead of paying cash?
Partnership accounting was removed from the syllabus for Paper FA a long, long time ago (something like 15 years ago 🙂 )
It could be an error, or it could be (although a bit odd) that we had overpaid one of the payables and so we received cash back from them.
