What is the maximum number of people in a partnership?
This cannot possibly be asked in Paper F3 – partnerships were removed from the syllabus many many years ago! (and even when they were in the syllabus, it was only the accounting that was examined, not the law)
I am not sure if they are still examinable in the law paper (I do not teach Paper F4) but if you are interested for F4 then you should ask in the F4 forum and the F4 tutor will be able to answer you.
I believe at one time in the UK the maximum number of partners allowed was twenty. However,I believe that in 2002 this restriction was lifted and the total number of partners permitted is unlimited.
mrjohnbain: You are certainly correct that it used to be 20 (it was when I was a student, but that is many years ago 🙂 )
However, Katarina really should ask in the F4 forum because as I wrote, it cannot possibly be asked in Paper F3. (I can only think that she has posted in the wrong forum or is using a very, very old book.)
