Kd was 4.47 if I remeber right, WACC 11-something,
Maximum percent discount 4-something provided only 25% takes up the offer.

The cost of debt was for redeemable right?…that is using IRR method?..i.e for question 4…

I just messed up my cost of debt question….
    [li]NPV was negative around 720000[/li]
[li]I think the cost of 5000 buffer inventory was a common cost in the decision so it should be ignored[/li]
[li]200M fund can be raised by Right issue and i suggested Load notes secured as they had good fixed assets. Management of Working Capital can also release some cash and some fund as it was like 211 Million in current assets….[/li]
[li]Asset beta was something 1.2 i guess and after Regearing it was like 1.443 i guess a little highter……[/li]

Just i got confused in calculating Net asset value and cost of debt in that question. Can anybody tell me the formula to calculate Net Asset value ?

Where was risk management and forex? None of it, mmm…in general it wasn’t too bad… I liked the Q on project specific discount rate, very straightforward, and the Investment Appraisal Q was well structured. Q3 too much on receivables though! I thought there was going to be less discussion points but don’t complain about it.

Can any one tell me whether we need no consider WIC recovery in yr 4? I ws confused with Director’s comment & did not consider it.
I’m not an expert – but I included the working capital because the director said he didn’t – that didn’t make right! I said that if the working capital remained in the project it would not give the correct npv,as the wc is still in and not a true reflection of the value of the project- I took out wc in year 4 and i rejected the projected. I’m not sure if thats right but thats what i did 🙂

eaze one and i m happy.
But not pleased with examiner as some topics like heding, forex, interest rates, etc were not even touched in the paper.
this kind of skewed papers are not appreciated.
    rest is cool

Factors should be market imperfections- tax position of investors and potential market reaction to dividend policy.

Hi Ladies and Gentle men, I have been following comments on this year’s F9 exam papers. I agree with most of the suggestions taht have been uploaded. To be fair, the paper it self was not very difficult from my personal point of view. I though I made enough preparation for the paper. But when the exam was finished I came out from the exam hall guted. Time was so short in relation to the questions asked. I could not put the things I know because of time. Especially Q2 ( the 15 marks) was a kind of open question. The have no idea what the examiner has wanted. If it was not for time, I could have kept on writing …,

i think paper f(7,8 & 9) where all fair, very passable, it just demands on how much time one did the revisions and Exam Techniques, otherwise the papers were very fair.

Hi All; my take about this December 2010 diet on F9 is that the examiner did his job to examine about 85% of the syllabus and ensure that his questions matched the standards required to employers. In terms of the questions we saw in the exams; they are answerable but needs high thinking and lots of practice before 9th December 2010.
