it was an internal audit exam, makes me wonder why did I bother with the other topics. I liked it though looking forward for the best

December 8, 2010 at 9:19 pm #73570I just can’t believe, why on earth, does she have to use that complicated English. Is she trying to teach us English or test the god damn audit…
December 8, 2010 at 9:58 pm #73571What are people going on about the English? The paper was perfectly understandable. Perhaps some of the readers may need to brush up on their own English skills? Just a thought.

To be fair to the examiner, the paper wasn’t difficult. How prepared I was is another matter. I am hoping for the best nonetheless.

Paper was bit tricky but can i request all the students who were at Alexandra Palace London to report the matter to ACCA as the hall had no heating and it affected their exam. I would also urge you to fill out exam feedback on ACCA website.
Or contact me k.9564@hotmail.com as i am intending to write a petition to ACCA regarding this

1. To many requests per question on this diet:
State 4 deficiencies and for each , implications and recommendations, i.e. 4×3=12 sentences to write, let alone the thinking time to pick up the relevant ones to the scenario;
…and this repeated several times over the whole Paper.2. Why do the examiner has to ask things in a tricky way?
(like Q1 part a) : explain examples of matters… ?????!!!!)December 9, 2010 at 1:06 am #73577AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

Pre-Conditions.- Got that one wrong .Not mentioned anywhere in the Kaplan text even though it is an ‘authorised publisher’. So annoying.
Below taken from the ISA 210
https://web.ifac.org/download/a009-2010-iaasb-handbook-isa-210.pdfPreconditions for an Audit
6. In order to establish whether the preconditions for an audit are present, the
auditor shall:
(a) Determine whether the financial reporting framework to be applied in
the preparation of the financial statements is acceptable; and (Ref: Para.
A2βA10)
(b) Obtain the agreement of management that it acknowledges and
understands its responsibility: (Ref: Para. A11βA14, A20)
(i) For the preparation of the financial statements in accordance
with the applicable financial reporting framework, including
where relevant their fair presentation; (Ref: Para. A15)
(ii) For such internal control as management determines is necessary
to enable the preparation of financial statements that are free
from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error; and
(Ref: Para. A16βA19)
(iii) To provide the auditor with:
a. Access to all information of which management is aware
that is relevant to the preparation of the financial statements
such as records, documentation and other matters;
b. Additional information that the auditor may request from
management for the purpose of the audit; and
c. Unrestricted access to persons within the entity from whom
the auditor determines it necessary to obtain audit evidence.December 9, 2010 at 1:14 am #73578AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

i agree with all those people listed the conditions before an audit engagement like independence access to record n asking the leaving auditors .i thing d word precondtion was only deir to confuse us.value for money was asking about three es.and thanks god i learnt procedures about accounting estimates.they were
test and review estimate used by management
seek independent external evidence
review any subsequent event.

hellooooo everyone…reading your comments make me feel slightly better…as I only managed to attempt about 60% of the paper…(Questions 1,2 and 4…was just getting started on 3 when time was over)…I have horrible time management skills…
If i think that whatever else i wrote was correct (give or take 10 marks), will I be able to pass? i heard that the marker gets a bad impression of you if you are unable to complete/attempt all the questions due to time constraints…
How did people answer the questions by the way? Paragraphs, or the columnar format as shown in kits/past papers? I think that’s what took most of my time…trying to make nice, pretty lines and columns LOL. I forgot it was an audit exam, not drawing class! Too busy trying to impress the examiner with my neat presentation skills. Fat lot of good that was!

Paper was not difficult but surprising, as it was not really same as past papers and there was not needed memorisation of the syllabus. Just logic based paper.
December 9, 2010 at 6:33 am #73585Paper was actually horrible i shud say . All predictions in vain . not even a bit similar to past papers. What do tis examiners want first f6 n now f8 π
