paper was too easy. i had prepared for difficult topics like learning curves and time series. the time was not enough at all. how does some one exhaustively answer such a paper with all that kind of theory in 3hrs? the exam was about apportioning time correctly. i left a whole 20marks on linear programming!! i know, God be with me. soooo sad!!!

    also very sad here!!

The unexpected qtns came. How tricky Ann is? Struggle maself out but mess up with linear prog. Couldnt finish. Also on de non-performance. Did all de calculation but mess up with de comments.
    Hoping for a pass anyway!!

I agree with what most of you said. It was quite a simple paper but like lots of you I messed up Q1 with the labour rate/efficiency variance, question 2 i loved but not sure if I wrote what she wanted! Question 3 Linear Programming was a wasted 20 marks – I wasnt prepared for it and left it for last and didn’t have much time for it anyway. Q 4 and 5 I hope were ok. PG I am hoping for a pass!!

I am doing F7 tomorrow and took the exam today in Excel and they made us wait 25 mins after the exam was over whilst they were doing whatever they do… That was so unfair!

    Good luck to us all!

Paper was easy but different format. Linear regression always trips me up but other than that easy. Ann Irons- love you- Merry Christmas!

It was easy and time was enough. The most difficult for me was labour variances. But I did it. thank yuo Ann Irons.

    labour rate variance: 4,950 (A)
    labour efficiency variance: 6,XXX – 4,950 (6,XXX i don’t remember but it’s on question)

Is that correct? Sbd has same answer??

Question not too difficult but I did not well at all, don’t know why that was,,, hmmmm. Only hope passing rate.

HI . LABOUR VAR was 6XXX

so all units actually produced (and sold) were 650 and 750. Permanent staff had only 2200 hours, so temporary staff SHOULD HAVE worked 2475 hours -2200

    so temporary workers should have worked 275 x 18 $ = 4950
but did work (twice as much- was in question) 550 x18$ = 9900
    VARIANCE = 4950 $ Adverse . Labour rate var = 6XXX – 4950

    🙂

( I have however mixed names – I named it labour eff var instead of labour rate

I cannot believe I messed up on linear programming. I was praying for it to be in the exam because I really like it. But I messed it up. Boooo…. 🙁 Must be the time pressure. Need more practise at home as I almost didn’t practise for this exam. Well… lesson learnt!

i dun know how to calculate to labour rate= =the 7 marks is lost…
Q2 is good for me, may be can take more marks in the paper.
Q3, linear programming, draw the graph >.< may be easy, but i didn't study ant LP question and the shadow price also dun know how to calculate. This question i got 0 mark, because dun know how to do, and not write any things. 20 marks is lost...
Q4, ABC question…. actually dun study this area, but try to do the best..hopefully can get some marks..
Q5, budget theory, i didn’t got any points in the ZBB…. and write somethings i think that cannot got marks… the 20 marks also lost…

In F5, the atleast 40 marks that is gone= =
    cry cry cry >.<''

I thought the exam was severly time pressured! I just about finished, labour rate and labour variance was a bit rubbish!

Linear programming, optimal point was at the two constraints that weren’t 1+0.5 = can’t remember!

I think I got 1275 and 875 for optimum plan, with a shadow price of 1 I think!

It said on the question that unfinished products were going to be made the following week, so I just got rid of the 2 decimal places and calculated the full products!

Q2, the company performed much better than the year before, and as market was going to decline by 20%, their turnover only decreased 8%!

Q4, cost drivers, I had procurement and purchase orders, delivery against deliveries, machine running costs and machine hours, and machine set up against production runs!

Anyone agree?! Please say yes! Lol!

max contribution was where 2 materials (silk..) intersect i suppose? 🙂

Overall there were only 3 constrainstts – 2 materials + skilled labour + demand for Lotions <2000

P.s did anyone do anything with the fixed costs in the linear programming question?
I deducted them from contribution but wasn’t sure!

    labour rate variance
    650*1.5+750*2=2475 hours should take
    2475-2200=275
    275*2*(18-14)=2200(A)
    labour efficiency extra 275*14=3850(A)
    in total 6050(A)
    Did anyone do like this?
