    How did you get the workings of nci investment valuation to be (40%x120)+5? Where did the 120 come from.

    Net assets = shareholders’ funds and, at date of acquisition, shareholders’ funds were $80,000 share capital + $40,000 retained earnings …

    … and the nci is valued on a proportional basis plus attributable goodwill so their investment value was 40% * $120,000 + the $5,000 attributable goodwill
