Hi Sir,
I live in UK, don’t work in Audit and looking to sit the P7 exam in June.
Is there much difference in the syllabus between the two versions?
The open tuition lectures are for International exam and this will be my main method of study. Would you advise to do UK or International version? Thanks
Roshan
March 12, 2018 at 3:09 pm #442359The only real difference lies in the examinable documents where the UK has not yet fully adopted IFRS so one or two accounting issues are addressed from the UK point of view whereas the International stream accounting matters are all IFRS orientated
I’m not sure just how much of a difference this makes but it’s something that you could easily check for yourself … download the answers for a recent exam for both variants and compare the two sets of printed solutions
There IS a difference in the exams themselves in that, for the UK stream, the sub-allocation of the number of marks for each separate part of a question is not shown whereas that allocation IS shown in the International exams
There is one other matter for you to consider … if you have any ambition at all of obtaining a practicing certificate to be an auditor in the UK at any time in the future, it is necessary for you to attempt successfully the P7 UK variant
Does that help?
