Hi Dear Mike,
How could I prepare for the UK bit.
I know 90 or 95% of the syllabus is similar to International but the remaining 10-5% (UK bit)
is bothering me. Please help me to prepare for it.
What’s included in the UK bit?
Many Thanks
Ani
January 19, 2017 at 12:25 pm #368307The difference between UK and International is due to the failure of the UK fully to adopt the IFRSs
If you were to get hold of a P2 (yes, P2) revision kit by a reputable publisher you would see, probably at the back of the material, around 10 or so ‘alternative’ answers based on the UK’s FRSs
So far as I am aware, there is not a great deal of difference – that you could determine for yourself by comparing P2 or P7 printed solutions for the 2 variants for a recent past exam
Is there any reason why you think that UK may be a preferable choice?
Are you hedging your bets so that, should you wish at some time in the future to carry on as an accountant / auditor in the UK, you will at least not be barred because you didn’t have a UK P7 success?
Or is it in the mistaken belief that the UK variant is noticeably easier?
It isn’t!
