Hard
I thought q1 and q2 was quite hard.
What was 1a trying to get us to do for 15marks ?
Question 2b for 12 marks . What was this examining ?
1a was about loss relief. loss relief for sole traders in their first year of trading. They gave us his salaried income for 4 years and we had to use the losses in the first two years of his self employment in the most efficient way. The question wanted us to compare traditional carry back to carry back 4 four years FIFO basis.
2b – was this the one investment property one? can’t remember now!
Yes I got the carry back sole trader bit .yeah It was investment something or other ! Really didn’t understand it was for 12 marks
It was investment property …..the effect if it is treated as FHL-
the reliefs and exemptionsI think this might be another question… I think it was talking about Rental income of which withholding tax has been deducted….in the country of farania ….,
I’m not sure which of the two
But for this …the calculation suppose to be
Total rent (add back 30% withholding) 100/70 * 6537………..9338
Less income tax
Less dTR…30%Etc

I think this exam was really hard . Examiner doesn’t make requirements and questions clear

I passed P6 on the second try but I always felt the examiner was unclear. Hated that exam, but a very useful string to have in your bow. Good luck all!
