Hi Ken,
Due to an unexpected pass from my last exam results I will now be looking to take P5 in June. My question is how big are the changes in the syllabus from the June 16 exam to the September 16 exam? My own understanding from the ACCA website is that P5 has significant changes between the June and September 16 exam. My concern is that if I don’t pass P5 first time in June, will I need to simply improve my knowledge further for September or learn a slightly different syllabus?
Thank you in advance
April 18, 2016 at 4:25 pm #311391Well done for your unexpected pass.
You would be OK changing from June to Sept. The list of changes looks long but most of the changes are reordering and tidying up. The big addition is the misuse of quantitative data.

Thank you for your time. You are really appreciated.
Please, could you let me know when the course note covering the new syllabus for September 2016 would be out?

A – performance hierarchy
– other environmental and ethical issuesC – performance management information system
– recording and processing methods
– management reportsD- Strategic perf, measures in the private sector
– The role of quality in management info and performance measurement systems
-Perf. measurement and strategic human resources management issues
– Strategic perf. measures in NFP orgE – Alternative view of performance ,measurement and management
– Strategic perf issues in complex business structures etcMany thanks again for your efforts and commitment.

The best place to look for syllabus changes is right at the end of the syllabus. You will see that most of the changes are reordering and rephrasing.
The two biggest additions are:
C2c: big data
C4b: misuse of numerical data
There is already an SA article on big data in their P3 section and an article on the misuse of numerical data in their P5 section.
Changes to the notes will largely simply be incorporating these into the notes.

Thank you Mr Garrett I will check out the articles.
