    Hi,

Can you please advise if P5 & P7 both exams are doable for Sep’18 sitting which includes full time job and one quarter end?

    Many thanks.

It depends … how much of your F5/F8 studies do you recall? How well did you do in these exams? Do you have a “clean” exam track record? Typically, students in full-time employment succeeding in both these exams sat together would start their studies a good 3 months before the exam date – ideally 4 months (16 weeks per ACCA’s sample Study Plan).

I suggest you look at ACCA’s Study Support guides for these exams – https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/p7/self-study-guides.html and draw up a Study Plan – if you can’t see how you’ll fit it in it’s better to not over commit yourself.

    Kim2311,

I would be grateful if you could advise me on current issues for exams – where and what kind of articles I should consider more to get through the exams?

    Thanks.

If you look at my reply to the post “P7 Sep 18 preparetion” [sic] you will see a list of the additions to examinable docs which is a good clue for current issues.
ACCA’s guidance on current issues in the syllabus and study guide is as follows:
“Syllabus section G on current issues may be examined in Section A or B as appropriate. Current issues is UNLIKELY to form the basis of any question on its own but instead will be incorporated into the Case Study or either of the Section B questions dependent on question content and the topical issues affecting the profession at the time of writing.”

Other than what you will find in an ACCA approved text you should follow the technical articles on ACCA’s www.

You can also follow developments on IFAC’s www https://www.ifac.org/issues-insights and ACCA’s technical activities https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/technical-activities.html and professional insights https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/professional-insights.html
