I have attempted P5 in last sitting. For me the paper is quite fair. If you are more into management paper, then this is the paper for you. I passed the paper in first attempt.
I don’t know about P7 as that is not the area of my job, as I involve in management/ cost accounting and not auditing. Same goes to F5 as that paper is exempted for me.
Besides F5, the other paper which compliments P5 is P3. If you like P3, I think P5 is the paper for you. P5 is not much into calculations (even you are required to know some fundamentals i.e Transfer Pricing etc.), it is actually explaining the result of calculation and proposing ways to make things better (management wise, normally the jr. accountant will do the calculations for you! Your position is as the Manager/Sr. Accountant).
Don’t be surprised that in most of the sittings, there are no calculation required, as the the question already embedded the result of calculations for candidates. What you need to do is to backup your explanations by relevance ratios i.e ROCE and with some relevance discussion on management theories you already learned in P3.
Well, most importantly in choosing option paper is your interest. If you love it, I’m sure you will put extra effort on it, and of course time management during exam is crucial. Good luck!
