Paul.
GoD knows what was correct and what was wrong. It was the best we could have done there. πJune 11, 2014 at 9:43 pm #176040Well I made sure and rate this exam via the email I got earlier today. People please go and answer the survey. Days later I’m still upset about how ridiculous this exam was!!!!!! Such a disaster!!

I have just answered that survey. Its good to see that ACCA is trying to take students feedback. Please every one kindly answer that survey and let them know about your thoughts .
June 12, 2014 at 12:26 am #176059Wish I never chose this paper. Attempt 5 for me, what is wrong with this examiner?? Over the last few years his papers are hardly examining course content!!! He spends his time creating obscure questions with requirements that, sometimes, do not make any sense at all. Passing this paper is more about decoding his Morse code way of asking the question.
Fed up of Alex Watt and this paper. Think I will switch to tax if I failed this time. Going through the forums, it looks like I am not alone in feeling like this.
ACCA need to fire this guy and hire someone who creates a more balanced paper which actually tests course content. All of you who are feeling hopeless, you’re not alone. To all those looking to choose this paper, DON’T. This paper is a f**king nightmare.

@tina666 both of these exams are challenging and difficult to pass in their own ways. It depends what interests you more, finance and capital markets; or performance management? A good indicator of what to choose would be your F5 and F9 marks, and if you felt comfortable with the syllabus content.
June 12, 2014 at 10:20 am #176158Guys…infact ive read every single comment of u guys ever since day 1 we wrote de exams.Infact after de exams i immediately came here to check the comments..wasnt surprised atall aout the reactions.W e hav all come far ..in our acca journey to reach P5..we all put in great effort..But i wonder why as a exams board will allow such an exams to be set!!im shocked .Last year 2013 Dec was even better looking @ it than this one.The Variance question in question 4 was a bomb..Question 1a was unclear..we hoping ACCA ..wil be considerate in the marking..

Honestly the vague requirements did not help in answering the questions. i was left uncertain as to whether the answers i had put out related to the question.

well, this time, there were no any models, like prism, pyramid, building blocks etc ….. why…….this time the examiner was unfair. but as for me i had read extensively, but i wonder why the examiner could not even set an easy question for the unprepared students. all questions were so hard.

they should lower the pass rate to 43% , if any one gets above that, then he/she could be considered as though she scored 50%

If you love maths like I do, take P4. I passed in all other subjects in one try but stuck at P5. I am a maths major. Did my degree in Mathematics and then completed MBA. Two years after MBA I thought of doing ACCA and started. Hopefully, I will pass in P5 this time. Scored 65 in P4 but got only 44 in P5 last time and only 41 previous time when I did it with P3 ( got 75 for P3) π
June 14, 2014 at 2:01 am #176521really technical but hope we get the 50 mark

June 2012 53 49 48 37 35 42 32
December 2012 50 49 48 33 33 44 32
June 2013 49 49 51 34 31 45 31
December 2013 48 49 49 42 30 41 33Compared to P6 and P7 combined pass rates the combined pass rated of P4 and P5 are much lower in the last four sittings.
Why did I take P4 and P5?June 14, 2014 at 11:25 am #176553AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

If you just want to pass P papers, don’t choose either of P4 or P5. Historically, you reduce your chance of passing as much as 20% if you choose 4 and 5 rather than 6 and 7. Would you take a chance?
If you want to specialise in Finance and/or stock market related areas or management accounting you might want to keep trying P4 and P5 combination.
I took P4 and P5 as I like the content of those areas.June 14, 2014 at 3:11 pm #176564AnonymousInactive- Topics: 1

p5 examiner needs to change his approach and attitude. The way he watns to test the knowledge which i feel he is examining doctor or pilot. From my point of view 50 to 60
percent students has the knowledge , skills and capabilites to pass the paper. Unfortunately
his wrong approch and attitudes demotivated the students but ACCA will be happy because
he is playing pivotal role to maximise the revenue for the organization. He should be rewarded
by bonus.June 14, 2014 at 11:53 pm #176578AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

Yes indeed the questions are quite technical and i believe our Phd Holder Examiner expects only the highest form of professional thinking from us. It is like throwing us into the deep end and finding out if we could swim. The exams was really tricky not knowing what is expected ……
July 14, 2014 at 1:59 pm #178854The model answers have now been posted on the ACCA website..oh boy!
