    Hi Ken,
I am doing P4, P1 this December and confused between P5 & P7 for the other option paper . Although I enjoyed studying for P3 & F5, I am quite reluctant to take P5 exam as i have read on the forums that this paper is the most difficult to pass out of all the professional level papers. Do u think the same?
Moreover, I am not very fond of auditing as a subject and haven’t really studied the subject for 2 years now and had also got exemption for the fundamental level paper on auditing.
So, i am little confused between the two and am not able to make a decision. it would be great if you could advise me on the same.
    Thanks in advance.

I am a little worried that you didn’t have to attempt F8 as this lays important ground-work for P7. You also need good knowledge of P2 to be successful at P7.

Furthermore, the reputation of P5 compared to P7 is not supported by ACCA statistics. For example, recent passrates have been:

    March 2016 P5 33%, P7 30%
    June 2016 P5 38%, P7 32%

If you enjoyed F5 and P3 I would advise P5 rather than P7 – especially as you don’t enjoy auditing!

Thank you so much Ken for such a prompt reply and guidance. P5 definitely seems to be a better option in view of the statistics mentioned by you.
I would also like to ask you if P5 has a certain proportion of calculative questions?
    Thanks in advance!

Yes, there are calculations, but more pzrtivularly the interpretation of calculations presented in the question.

Have a look at some past papers on the ACCA site.
