hello all
please don’t be mistaken by saying new examiner will ask less computation, there is no way computations not happening in P5.
he says *less repetitive computation* which means hopefully we wont have to multiply same stuff for different possibilities 10 times..
i warn you, that we have to know all these computational stuff:
activity based costing
all performance measurements ( roi, ri, roce, eva, npv)
learning curve
expectation tables
target costing
transfer pricingbut hey ho, i cannot study , my brain is on strike after P7 exam!!

hiya, join the club. I was with BPP last time, failed with 46 :)) I didn’t take any courses either.
I still have this list but I really want the new one. Reason is that I lost my objectivity towards the questions on this list as I have seen them before. I mean I haven’t memorized them but once I know how to start my answer I am sorted anyway. And this is the matter in the exam, deciding how to structure the answer.

@ Hilalpaksoy: I am snowed in at the moment in Scotland! I have not been able to get into work since last Tuesday, all trains on my line to Edinburgh have been cancelled & have booked a hotel for tomorrow night as I don’t think I would get through to the exam in time on Friday morning! Could do without the added worry to be honest!!
Re the BPP Kit – I think we are all using the same one – published in January 2010. However I do not know of anyone who has got the updated questions list – I imagine if BPP are using the same kit (which I have heard they are until the next sitting) then the 24 hour questions will be the same.
I also feel like I have looked at these questions so many times – in class and then again at home before the exam in June, and am really struggling to concentrate this time.
I am thinking that this examiner will expect more analysis than number crunching which is asked at the lower level papers – although I had full exemptions for all the fundamental papers so not too sure what they required.
Fingers crossed for a nice exam seeing as it is his first one??

oh dear, I wish you all the luck with travelling.
fundamental papers were more about technical knowledge, without much applications. i.e you could get a 20 mark for talking about balance score card, where in professional papers, technical knowledge lacking to link to the scenario get no marks.
again, in F5 they want us to calculate transfer prices, but in P5 we are asked both the transfer price and its motivational effects on managerial behaviour. and if there is any suggestions to make it a good application, it will ask for those. (i.e if there is spare capacity, we will advice a transfer price on marginal cost plus a lump sum of the fixed costs )
good luck to us all tomorrow 🙂

Woaw! I couldn’t finish. I left a few question worth about 15 marks.
Not a difficult exam but very time consuming. You have about 4 in one questions for very little marks.
I am not sure but I have to believe I will pass this one.

I suggest we do not discuss the questions yet. It will only make people feel terrible.
I feel funny about this exam. New examiner, not knowing how he will consider things.
It shall be well.
