Good luck, Thanks.
May 16, 2020 at 4:02 pm #571043Hi All,
I need help about my concern related to my submission, for OBU Project
Submitting Project:
after uploading all the documents, i wanted to check files as view, but RR and SLS files uploaded via Turnitin are showing as 00KB or no view, while i can view other project files.I had successfully uploaded my RR word document, but it’s not showing in the “views”
is it nothing to worry about? are you guys seeing the same issue? due to turnitin or what.
please let me know, thanks
May 16, 2020 at 8:34 pm #571059I think one of my students had the same problem. The report and SLS files go into an interface as uploading via Turnitin is not instantaneous and they tend to be held in a queue. Check in a couple of days and there will probably be no issue
May 17, 2020 at 8:37 pm #571132Hi.I have two queries
As information pack states to use 1000, 2000,4500 words in part 1,2 and 3 respectively but can we use some less words in part 1 and 2 and can utilise these words in part 3??
Is referencing also the part of word count. For example if we wrote profit increased by X amount for any Y reason(annual report)
As I have reffered annual report here so the annual report written here is also the part of word count?May 17, 2020 at 9:36 pm #571142Hello Champ,
Q1, Yes this is alright, provided you don’t skip a key requirement of each part.
Q2, Yes the refrences are inclusive, you are to use the word count in the status bar on ms word, you may choose to make an allowance for words used in images especially if you have quite a few in your report, as these are not captured by the word count.
May 20, 2020 at 9:29 pm #571355Hi, I just submitted my RAP today.
Can anyone tell me that were we supposed to just write our mentor’s name. I only wrote her full name and doubt that it could suffice I mean how will they know who it exactly is, or was did I make a mistake by only entering name.
Secondly, my RAP file which originally had 7479 words, the system showed it has 7451 and for SLS it showed 1962 rather than 1990. Can someone guide what could be the issue. Has a part of my files been cut off? Or is it nothing to worry about.
Thirdly, I wasn’t asked for which period I wanted to submit, I hope it is automatically submitting for this current May submission.
Also right after submitting, I logged in again to view my files but under RR and SLS, a blank file with 0kb size was showing.
Thanks alot to whoever tries helping me out ??.

What are all the items we should include in our spreadsheets?May 22, 2020 at 8:51 pm #571620As per the Assessment Criteria make sure with the spreadsheet that you have
” created and submitted a spreadsheet file (which incorporates and clearly demonstrates use of varied formulae)”.
May 23, 2020 at 8:42 pm #571689Hi all,
I failed in my RAP in the last period (P39) and i am going to resubmit it this in period.
I passed in SLS and failed in RR. The information pack says that i do not have to submit SLS when i am resubmitting as per the above criteria (pass in SLS and fail in RR).
As i tried to submit the project, I could not submit it because a message pops up saying “ i have to attach the SLS before submitting”.
Also, there is no specific place to attach Resubmission Statement, hence i attached it in Appendix.
Anyone else who is resubmitting facing this issue? Do I really have to attach the SLS document and presentation even if i passed it last time?
Please suggest me what can i do to submit my RAP.May 24, 2020 at 4:31 am #571703AnonymousInactive- Topics: 1

Hey Everybody,
I have created a printable checklist to ensure before submitting your RAP, Please check that out: https://thementor.mehwishjavaid.com/bsc-obu-rap-final-submission-checklist/
If you have any questions about the checklist or do not understand any thing, please do not hesitate to contact me on Mehwishkazak@outlook.com

May 26, 2020 at 3:28 am #571845Yes, it is.
Every word from the title page till the end of conclusion is included in the words count, including the words in the pictures and graphs.
Appendices and references in the reference list are excluded.
May 26, 2020 at 5:57 pm #571884My understanding is that the words in graphs are not included.
May 27, 2020 at 11:16 am #571947Hi Jinaa26
As for this issue, I had the same issue with my RAP. I had passed my SLS in P39 submission, but i could not proceed to submission and payment without submitting the SLS.
So, I sent an email to OBU regarding this, and they told me to submit a Word file in which I explain that I had passed the SLS in the previous submission, and hence, have not submitted the SLS. Then, you could submit this file instead of the SLS.This is what OBU suggested. hope it helps

My understanding is that the words in graphs are not included.Hi Oesj,
The RAP information pack actually tells us that all the words in the graphs, figures, images should also be counted towards the 7,500 word limit.
Hence, I guess it would be better to count and include the words on the graphs and other such figures, rather than risking OBU markers not reading our Research Report’s beyond the 7,500 word limit.
May 28, 2020 at 7:37 am #572005Hi all!!
I have just already submitted RAP, SLS for 5 days. However, my word count for RAP is more than 7,500 words. Please help me does it impact my result significantly? I am worried about that, this is the first time I submit.
Thank you so much.
May 28, 2020 at 8:39 am #572013Markers can stop marking at 7,500. If you are only about 50 words over the limit this may not have any real impact. However if ALL of your Conclusion falls beyond 7,500 you could be given a ‘technical fail’. In effect this means that you would be viewed as not having produced a Conclusion which is a mandatory, because it was not within the text marked.
Where most of your conclusion came before the cut-off you should be OK.
The above also applies to those topics (usually ONLY those that required primary data and therefore does not usually apply to topics 8, 17 and 20 but would apply to Topic 6) where recommendations are mandatory.
June 15, 2020 at 10:34 pm #573938Greetings trephena,
I need some clarification with the eligibility requirements for OBU and would appreciate your help.I was set to attempt my AA and FM papers this July 2020. but due to Covid restrictions, the exams have been cancelled and postponed to Sept 2020. Initially(Assuming I passed the papers), my plan was to start working on OBU RAP right after the July sitting and to submit in the November session.
Since the exams have now been postponed, would it be allowed, or even advisable that I start working on the OBU RAP from now(June 2020), ie, start with the report and aim to submit in November, and have my September sitting simultaneously too.
Is there a deadline by which i should have completed my papers before submitting RAP in the November session.
Thank you.
June 16, 2020 at 10:29 pm #574015Yes you should be able to submit in November if you have passed or been exempted from F4-F9 (or of the equivalent) This has been confirmed by the University in the latest newsletter to mentors:
“Students who pass an exam in the Sept sitting (results released in Oct) can submit a RAP in Nov 2020”
July 1, 2020 at 6:42 am #575579Hi All,
Good day.
I have failed my RR for period 39 on Topic 8 due to selected wrong industry sectors. I would like to re-submit my RR in period 41 and had confirmed with ACCA that no changes on the industry sectors.
My question is now I need to choose a new Company annual report to match the industry sectors in period 41. Can I choose the annual report released on 31 January 2020 or must comply with the information pack that I must use annual report publication dates on 31 July 2020?
I refer to the information pack for period 41 and 42 its quite confusion.
July 8, 2020 at 1:56 pm #576334Hi all
I am a newcomer and want to begin my RAP to be submitted in the current period. I have chosen a mentor and have selected the automobile sector for topic 8. My mentor simply asked me to select my topic and begin research. I have not done any form of research report before. My question is what exactly must I do first to proceed. Thanks
July 9, 2020 at 9:58 pm #576467Hi,
You need to select an organisation and its peer company for topic 8.
You need to set research objectives and research questions and you will be working towards achieving these objectives and answers to your research questions. You must follow the requirements of the information pack from OBU throughout your research.

Ignite MentoringJuly 10, 2020 at 4:06 pm #576518Hi Tonim,
Did you pass your OBU by choosing Volkswagen? As I am concern, most of the automobiles industry are producing commercial vehicles. I had failed first attempt due to choose wrong industry sector.
July 13, 2020 at 3:22 pm #576712Dears,
My RAP was failed and as per the feedback provided by the OBU self reflection part was passed and communication skills (incl. presentation) part was failed as they mentioned my conclusion was not proper. Does that mean only my presentation slides needs to improved ?
July 14, 2020 at 6:17 pm #576815Yes. You have to pass the Presentation [communication skills] element and this means that you need to use the marker feedback and make good the deficiencies they noted in your Presentation slides and resubmit the whole Presentation.
