If you look on the ACCA website, you will see that the length of the P4 syllabus just about the same as the other optional papers!

It is a hard exam (but so are all the P level papers). How easy or difficult you will find it depends a lot on whether you prefer calculations or writing (P4 has both, but is more calculations), and how easy or difficult you found Paper F9.

There is no reason why it should not be viable to take P4 and P7 in December.

There is not so much brand new things in P4, but it is to a higher level so there is a lot more to interpret in the questions than there is in F9. Best is to have a quick look at one or two of the recent exams, on the ACCA website.
