Hi John,
Hope you’re well.
As the title says, should I take paper P4 or P5 for my final option paper?
I know both these papers are widely regarded the two hardest ACCA papers, so it’s a tough choice.
The two things that are conflicting me are:
I’m currently working as a management accountant, so P5 would probably be more useful.
However I enjoyed studying F9 and got my highest marks for that paper (74).
Please help ?
September 29, 2015 at 7:02 am #274057It is impossible for me to answer – some people find P4 easier and some find P5 easier!!
If you enjoyed F9 then maybe P4 might be best.
Why not look at a few recent past papers just to get an idea of the level of difficulty?
September 29, 2015 at 7:30 pm #274146Thanks John.
I’ve had a look at past papers for both and they look equally as hard, however it seems like there are alternative correct answers for P4, which could make it easier perhaps?
Am I clutching at straws?
September 30, 2015 at 6:53 am #274187It is true that for most questions in P4, there is no one correct answer – it depends on the assumptions made (and most questions ask you to state your assumptions).
If you were happy with F9 and really understood what was happening (as opposed to just learning rules) then maybe P4 will be your best option.
