P4 will be better. As you failed P3, then P5 will be difficult for you too. P5 is more theoretical, and if you love calculations then I would be suggest you go for P4. P4 needs a good teacher, and Mr. John is very good here on P4.

P5 has calculations but it is more theoretical.P5 has P3 elements as well so I guess it would be easier for you to go for P5 . You can relate both of the papers. P4 is different than P3, overall it has more topics and a lot of calculations along with the theory.

Very well and all the best Hassan… P5 is actually a very useful paper to many acca students, the only problem is the pass rate. I know that should not be the basis but talk to guys who have had to resit it 3, 4, 5, 6, times and get to hear their story.

Now there are those that pass it straight up but if u ask me they do so not because they’ve mastered the subject but becoz they got the exam technique right. Last sitting 71% of students failed, the other about 70% and the story is the same all the way to Dec 2010.

Think again otherwise u may end up passing 13 papers in 2yrs and passing this one in another 2yrs or more. My advice, concentrate on completing ACCA and then come back and study the papers you didnt opt for, just for knowledge.

yes ur advice is well appriciated nd i hav also heard nd read alot about p5, but the thing is i was seeing pass rate of p7 in last attempts, nd it was almost the same pattern as p5, so only 2 papers with high pass ratio are p4 nd p6, nd did u saw the dec14 sitting comments here of p4, according to majority it was disaster paper, so i think its passing ratio will also come down this time, now tell me which options i have? 🙂

dear kibalka, hassan, im pretty sure that p5 examiner would have gone thru the comments hes getting from students hence must reconsidering the approach. if you want to be a pure finance person go with p5 along with p4……….. however, therz only 1 issue > you hardly see practicality of things you study in p5 Oops :-p

Second that. I constantly heard P5 is very commercial and is a paper for candidates working in very large multinational corporates.
